This virtual coaching cohort is designed to support elementary teachers in teaching fractions in a way that builds conceptual understanding from the very basics through advanced fraction topics. Using the coherence map from Achieve the Core as a guide, this cohort emphasizes the progression of fraction learning, beginning with understanding the whole and moving to equivalence, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ultimately applications. We will also focus on incorporating manipulatives, assessing student understanding, and filling in gaps where needed.
